Buyback to take place at Hollywood Police Department March 30th

Hollywood, FL On the heels of its first successful buyback in Coral Springs where 129 unwanted firearms were collected, 4FNow has its next voluntary gun buyback scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at the Hollywood Police Department.

4F NOW was founded by Parkland parents in the aftermath of the MSD shooting to help keep kids safe from gun violence and was honored to have Debbi Hixon officially join its board earlier this month. Debbi Hixon is the widow of MSD Athletic Director and wrestling coach, Chris Hixon, who gave his life protecting students during last year’s tragedy. As a long time resident of the city of Hollywood Mrs. Hixon’s efforts were key in forming the partnership with the City of Hollywood Police Department to administer this privately funded voluntary gun buyback program.

Chief of Police Chris O’Brien said: “The Hollywood Police Department takes the safety of everyone who lives in, works in, or simply visits the City of Hollywood very seriously. That’s why programs like this are very important to this agency. If our gun buyback program prevents even one gun from falling into the hands of someone who would use it to commit crime in our city then we would be successful in our goal of making our community safer. Our partnership with Debbi and 4FNow on this gun buyback program provides an opportunity to not only take guns of the street, but also provides a safe and effective way for residents to dispose of firearms that they no longer have a use for.”

All guns must be unloaded and brought to City of Hollywood Police Department at 3250 Hollywood Boulevard between 9am and 3pm on Saturday, March 30th. In exchange for working firearms, participants will receive gift cards valued from $75 to $250. All guns should be left in the trunk of vehicles for removal. No ID is required to participate in the program. Contact the Hollywood Police Public Affairs unit at 954.967.4371 with questions.

4F Now wants to fund as many voluntary gun buybacks as possible and help facilitate voluntary buybacks in municipalities around the country. Donations to help fund their efforts can be made at As 4F Now received its 501 (c) (3) designation from the IRS, all donations are eligible to be tax deductible.
